Statewide Program Manager of Alternatives to Policing

APTP is seeking a Statewide Program Manager of Alternatives to Policing to strengthen and expand APTPs existing data-driven alternative community response models to state violence and community crisis, including mental health, interpersonal violence and substance abuse. The Manager has a strong track record of strategy ideation, planning, and execution and will be a key partner on APTP’s management team. The Manager is an exceptional program and project manager who will work collaboratively with staff and key local, CA statewide, national stakeholders including movement partners, community leaders, allies, donors, and board members to advance APTP’s strategic priorities. Primarily in Sacramento and Oakland, this Manager is skilled at both strengthening existing programs as well as dreaming and facilitating new alternatives programs into reality so that all APTP alternative programs become the go-to programs for policy, pattern and practice shifts on alternatives to policing and incarceration response.


State and Local Policy Manager

APTP is seeking a State and Local Policy Manager who uplifts policy as an organizing strategy and takes a leading role in shaping and executing APTP's California legislative and local policy campaigns in Oakland and Sacramento. The Policy Manager will lead the development and implementation of CA legislative and local campaigns including crafting policy proposals and building coalitions with other community organizations. A key player in advancing APTPs Organizing, Base-building, and Advocacy strategy, the Manager will prioritize the collaboration with  families directly impacted by police violence to advance policy strategies that redefine public safety. This position requires a deep understanding of the California political landscape, experience in policy advocacy, and a commitment to racial justice.
