Our community is coming together to support Guillermo, a beloved San Jose tattoo artist and community organizer who has lived in the U.S. since he was six. Now, ICE wants to detain him again, despite knowing the trauma he carries and the serious toll this takes on his mental health. His re-detention is not only deeply unjust, it is a cruel response to someone who has already survived detention, institutional violence, and retaliation for speaking out. Since his release on bond in March 2023, Guillermo has continued advocating for immigrant rights, actively participating with community organizations, working as a carpenter, and building his tattoo business from the ground up. We need to fill the courtroom wall-to-wall and make our presence visible on the streets to show the judge that Guillermo is loved, valued, and deeply rooted in our community.
