When: Saturday, January 20, 2024, 1-4pm
Where: Nido’s Backyard, 104 Oak St, Oakland, CA
You are specially invited to our lunch reception, Town Bizness: Honoring 10 years of Reclaiming King's Radical Legacy with APTP Friends & Family, to honor 10 years of APTP reclaiming MLKs Radical Legacy through service and action.
As we do every year at this time, we will recommit ourselves to embodying the radical legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in our work, communities and daily lives.
Join us for music, drinks, lunch, laughs, highlights of our current work, and a look ahead to what’s next for APTP as part of interconnected movements for justice and the world King dreamed of!
Note: We are offering a sliding-scale ticket model because we believe this event should be as financially accessible as possible for all who want to support the Anti Police-Terror Project and celebrate with us. Town Bizness serves as a fundraiser for APTP’s movement work.
SPONSORS:
We are so grateful to our sponsors for making this celebration possible, including Solidaire, the Black Arts Movement Business District Community Development, Critical Resistance, Bay Rising, APEN, CAIR SF Bay Area, CURYJ, Catalyst Project, SURJ Bay Area, and Debra Kajiyama.

Note on Covid-19 and accessibility:
NIDO’s Backyard is a covered, open air, ADA compliant venue that we selected to reduce COVID risk. There is a ramp at the entrance of the venue and aside from a few tables all of the seating is accessible. There is a single stall accessible bathroom.People with mobility -based disabilities may want to get dropped off at NIDO’s entrance as the parking lot is not directly adjacent to the venue and requires traversing gravel and crossing a busy intersection.
COVID-19 continues to be most harmful towards Black, brown and Indigenous and disabled communities and it is crucial that we walk the talk when we say, “we keep us safe.” In an era of organized abandonment at the hands of the state It is our responsibility to do what we can to prevent the transmission of such a dangerous virus.
We ask all attendees to agree to the following COVID-19 safety guidelines:
Take a rapid test before entering the venue,
Wearing N95/KN95/4 masks are encouraged outdoors and required indoors for all attendees. Masks will be provided at the venue.
Please try to avoid unmasked indoor activities for 4 days prior to the start of the event.
Honor attendees and each other's risk assessments by asking for consent to hug or be physically close to others in attendance.
